The client brief

The Side Hustle Kitchen is a weekly podcast about turning cooking into a small business. The host, Jordan, sends you the transcript after every recording. He wants this episode on YouTube and his podcast page by Friday. Made-up client, fake data.

Your deliverables

03

Do the task

1

Read the full transcript

Mark the three best moments and every name or link mentioned.

2

Write the chapters

Five to eight, using the transcript times. Short, plain labels. YouTube needs the first one at 0:00.

3

Write the show notes

Two-line summary, takeaways, timestamps, links. Write for someone deciding whether to listen.

4

Write five titles

Mix styles: a question, a number, a result. Under 60 characters so they don't get cut off.

5

Write the description

The first two lines matter most, they show before "more". Then chapters, then links.

6

Make the checklist

Every step after recording, in order, so the client never has to remind you.

More tips
  • Thumbnails: three to five words, big face or big object, high contrast.
  • If you use AI for a first draft, check every timestamp and name by hand.
  • Checklist ideas: title, description, chapters, thumbnail, end screen, playlist, schedule, share links.
  • Make three short clip ideas from the best moments for a bonus sample.
